Lessons from Nature

sugarloaf 004

Every day this week has been a day of two halves; gorgeous weather in the morning (when I'm running!) and miserable, cold, wet weather in the afternoon and evening. It's natures way of telling us to get up early....

I know that mountain :) I've a friend who built his house right underneath it - their kitchen window looks out on this view - bastards!

There's a paragraph in a Beckett novel, I think it's Molloy, ot Murphy, I'm not sure, but he describes Irish weather - how it's beautifully sunny from dawn til about 11, when it starts to cloud over - then it rains for the day, and clears in the evening for a coupl hours before dark. It's a perfect description.

I would so not like to be running in today's weather - though it's looking better now. I'd decided I wouldn't even do the recycling - no loading and unloading children and boxes of waste in this rain and wind! Feck it!

I'm glad you have a running post I can comment on :)

Hi Jo, that's the Sugar Loaf. We had just ran off that side of it. Most people are used to seeing it from the dual carriageway side I think.

That's so true about the weather.

We used to climb it once a year for fundraising for our school. Usually before Easter - it was always hailing - bloody freezing! I can rememebr the purple fingers.

I keep meaning to do it again - maybe tomorrow, if the weather calms down!

It's a lovely photo.

Looks like a great place to run!
Spring time is really throwing the strange weather at us with snow, hail, sun, and wind all in the same hour.

Love those ferns in the forground of your picture. Do you run to the top?

Sorry, I've been a horrible blogger lately. I'm trying to catch up!

Hi Eric, on the night that photo was taken we ran up that mountain from the far side, reached the top then down the way you see there through the ferns.
