Dublin Marathon 2007

I was heavily involved in all things "marathon" last weekend. I've been blogging about it over at TGU and Wednesday Night Runners also.
Firstly there was the expo, then the international breakfast run, then the Kenyan athletes Ugale party in my brother's house, photos here, then the marathon itself. Baggage area photos here.
It's a great event, really professional and so many people give so much of their personal time and effort to make it that way. Tony ran a PB of 3:44, Rob ran his first in 3:42, Niall ran 2:43. I have to do it next year! Fatmammycat has a brilliant account of her first marathon here. Congrats to her!

Today was spent at the kids Dublin cross country and Dublin Senior Cross Country. I think I ran ok, second scorer for Clonliffe, which was a suprise so I'm happy enough. Photos here.

Wow Niall is a speedster! Great post. Congratulations to Tony with his PB. I've just spent the last 35 min jumping from link to link. FMC's story is very inspirational. Great pictures of DCM and the X-Country event. Looks like you shrunk your team shirt before the race!;-)

Wow, how did your brother become the party house for the Kenyan's? They must have been cold, they all have heavy clothing on. Suppose it's a bit cooler around Ireland than they are use to.

Cheers!
Eric

Hi Eric, yeah the Kenyans find it freezing here, even on the mild days.
Niall is super fast and has run that time a few times. Tony is delighted, he's been training for long events all year (like you and your centum) so it was great to do a PB.
It's great fun doing the baggage area, you get to meet tonnes of runners, not too many tears this year thankfully, people were in pretty good shape!
